Preparing "Microsoft Entra ID" - App-Registration
To be able to access OneDrive with the connector, it is necessary to create an app registration under “Microsoft Entra ID” and assign the following API Permissions. A corresponding client secret is also required. If you need help here, please contact your Microsoft partner or us.
It is also necessary to define a redirect url. To do this, go to Authentication and then to Add a platform. Select web and enter https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/OAuthLanding.htm as the redirection URL.
Setup
If you use the "Business Manager Evaluation" role center, you can start the setup via the OneDrive Setup menu item.
The setup can also be started via the global search:
Here you can enter the setup data and change it if necessary:
API Base-Url: This is pre-assigned by the system by default and cannot be edited
Login Base-Url: This is pre-assigned by the system by default and cannot be edited.
Login Tenant-ID: Enter your tenant domain name here.
Login Client-ID: Enter the client ID of the app registration
Login Client-Secret: Enter the secret value of the client secret in the app registration
Storage User Name: Enter the name of the OneDrive account whose storage is to be connected to BC here. The storage drive ID is automatically stored after entering the storage user name. The browser session is then updated.
Document Preview Activated: If this checkbox is activated, the OneDrive FactBox is displayed as soon as a document is linked to a data record. The preview FactBox is integrated in almost all standard cards and lists.
Magnifier Scale FactBox: Here you can activate the magnifier for the preview FactBox. Various zooms can be selected here.
Monitoring Start Date: Determines the date from which the posted purchasing and sales documents are checked for their archiving status. Non-archived documents are highlighted by corresponding OneDrive tiles in the role center.
Licence Assignment
Every user who wants to use the OneDrive Connector functions in BC must be assigned accordingly.
Role Center
The tiles in the role center extension provide a quick overview of the archiving status of sales and purchasing documents.
OneDrive References in Standard Card- and List-Pages
Linked OneDrive documents are displayed directly in the preview in all sales and purchasing documents as well as reminders and other standard card- and list-pages. Additional documents can also be linked via the OneDrive Explorer. The new column "OneDrive References" shows the documents that are already linked to the specific record. By clicking on it a list with the referenced documents will be opened.
OneDrive™ Explorer
Documents can be found in the OneDrive Explorer via the directory selection. Documents that are not yet archived in OneDrive can also be uploaded directly to the corresponding archive directory via the OneDrive Explorer.
